I mainly use this player for running and for workouts at the gym. I bought one in August 2003 and it worked fine until December. I was running and it cut off a few times and then just stopped working. I had an extended warranty and replaced it a few days ago. My new one exhibits the same troubling characteristics. When I am running and it hits my chest or if I bend over and it bumps something lightly through my sweatshirt, it cuts off abruptly with a static noise issuing through the earplugs. It sometimes takes a while to start working again. I use the neck strap, but not the protective case as I always have it under my sweatshirt. This is troubling. Anyone else have similar experiences? Any suggestions?

2 things to check.

Check the batteries. Clean the contacts inside with a rubber eraser. Make sure they are in SOLID.

Check the headphone connection. REALLY. If this gets yanked hard enough it can break/losen contacts inside. Use a rubber band accross the unit and to hold the wire in one place around it.

I would suggest an Arm/waist pack. Bumping around isnt good for anything. And have it Pressed onto bare skin will kill most electonics
