Need YP-55v original files

I re-imaged my machine (Win 2K Pro with all upgrades from microsoft.com) and I need to re-install the driver for the yepp. Problem is - I broke the original CD. Now my machine won't recognize the player. No help from Samsung, Canada (over a week without hearing from them).

Is there anywhere out there I can download the original drivers, then proceed to upgrade the new firmware?

On another note - why is Samsung USA and Canada so slow in getting out the firmware upgrades?

Thanks for replying , but I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing.
I need the original files (from the OEM CD) that came with the player.
I did download the 5.7 upgrade from that thread you mentioned; however, isn't it useless to install that if I don't have the original installed first?

The file you were referred to is the 5.7 firmware with a setup program that also installs the UPGRADE and FORMAT utilities.

ok - installed that .zip file and i see the fprmat and upgrade options, (and uninstall), but there is nothing else there.

my box still won't recognize the device completely. I plug it into the the machine, Found New Hardware (YP 55) comes up and then it switches to Found New Hardware (USB Mass Storage Device) and sits there and freezes.

I go into device manager and it tells me the device is not working properly - Error - Device won't start (error code 10). WIndows trouble shooter is not help.

My girls iPod works on this box, and the Yepp works on my laptop with the same image of Win 2K.

I've spent three hours on this now, and it's starting to bug me. Help!

(BTW - I lost the manual - but if it's plug and play? and the add new hardware app isn't working - what else is there?)
