As some of you guys may have known, my VPR Matrix 185A5 had suffered from a broken Wifi switch and the keyboard had some keys that were completely worn out (the A,S,L, '.' keys were basically blank).
I called VPR Matrix Tech Support, I gave them my PSP number, and they asked me about my problems. They said that they could not repair my keyboard under warranty, since it was a wear item. I was disappointed by this but I didn't really put up a fuss. The CSR also told me that they would check the computer over to see that the damage was not caused by the user.
The next day, I received a pre-paid shipping box from UPS for my VPR Matrix Computer. I enclosed my computer, the power supply, and filled out the form asking me to describe my problems. I described my problems with the wifi switch and keyboard and circled both items on the 'problem chart'.
Five working days later, (7 days total) I received a package from the UPS. It was my laptop! I opened up the box to find that the Wifi switch was repaired (new logic board) and the keyboard had been replaced!
I feel like I have a brand new computer now, so I am very pleased.
Here are some hints to getting your computer fixed right through PSP:
1. Call the VPR Matrix Support Hotline DIRECTLY. Do not bring your computer to Best Buy stores.
2. When you call the Hotline, be kind, considerate, calm, and impress the CSR with your charm, gentleness and humanity. Explain your problems clearly.
3. Describe all the problems with the laptop on the repair form you receive from VPR.
4. Do not purposely hurt your laptop to try and get a replacement through the lemon policy. The Best Buy lemon policy is there to protect consumer's rights to retain a working product. It is NOT there as a way for the customer to defraud Best Buy.
100% satisfied customer here.
Sincerely,
Sonoronos
