Let me start off by saying - Yes, I have read the manual - a few times.
My box still won't recognize the yp55 completely. I plug it into the the machine, Found New Hardware (YP 55) comes up and then it switches to Found New Hardware (USB Mass Storage Device) and sits there and freezes.
I go into device manager and it tells me the device is not working properly - Error - Device won't start (error code 10). WIndows trouble shooter is no help.
I've uninstalled, re-booted and re-installed, a few times. Same problem.
My girls iPod works on this box, and the Yepp works on my laptop with the same image of Win 2K.
The IT guys at work think it's a compaq issue but offer no suggestions - only "that sucks, compaqs are crappy'
Would installing 5.7 help at all. That's the only thing I haven't tried, but not sure I want to make that jump.
Wasted a few days on this now. Getting frustrated. Thanks,
