Hello all :)
I am new to these forums and I wanted to ask you something about a problem I am having with my laptop computer (Advent 7017)
I have had it since September and and everything was just perfect until a couple of weeks ago when it started running all sloppy and sluggish on me especially on ALL games I'm playing. I am pretty sure that overheating should be the problem. The laptop was pretty hot from day 1 but the problems occurred not until very recently.
The thing is I just checked the temperature for my laptop and it sayd that the Local Temp. is 50-55 degrees Celcius while the Remote Temp. is 65-70 constantly after I have been using it for some hours.
I wrote an email to Advent about 3 weeks ago but still have not gotten a reply.
If any of you have any ideas as to what might be the problem or any solutions whatsoever they would be greatly appreciated as I am pretty helpless at the moment.
Thank you very much in advance and take care all :)

1. how you connect to the net? ISP?
2. Dust is a great problem, esp with fans in current laptops.
3. it should still be under warrenty, i would see about a Internal cleaning.
4. AV prog(anti virus)? Bot prog(stops net site form installing STUFF)?

Thanks for your reply ECA :)
It's not a virus problem as I run several virus scans even sometimes more than once a day.
It's not a spyware/adware issue either as I'm also using spybot.
As for the internet speed I am using a T1 connection (broadband) so that's not the problem either.
My first thoyght was of installing updated drivers for my graphic card but that didn't help so what's left???.....
I also think lately that it is a "dust" problem.
Would adding extra fans solve the problem or would u suggest to go check it out for an internal cleaning as u mentioned in your post first?
Thanks again :)

And also one more thing.
Aren't the temperatures I mentioned above particularly high?
What do u think?
Thanks again :)

that 122 f, from 50 c

for a laptop, yes that is high. desktop its very close.
Get it cleaned, internally, and see if you can watch.
Laptops have channels in them, to pull the heat out. Make sure its done WELL.

THEN check your temp.
You should still have warrenty time, and it should be covered.

IF they know what they are doing, it should take less then 20 minutes to do.
I would also check drivers on the machine.. NOT updates, maybe DOWN grades. Sometimes they DONT work.

Spybot, and spyblaster are a good combo... get both.

If you right click on "My computer" what does it say the CPU is and the speed it is running at? Perhaps you have it in some sort of battery save mode which is causing the system to run slower than its full potential?
