What happened to my DVD?

My pcmica DVD is Toshiba SD-C2202 and several days ago, it can not read DVD disk any more, but can read common iso9660 data & VCD disk freely. What happened to it?

Does the region protection act? But I've done nothing to it.

Please help me! Thanx a lot.

Yes there is region protection on 90% of those sold.
have you cleaned the heads?
External devices, like floppies and CD's gain alot of dust and dirt. check this first.
