Is there any way to stop the YP-55V from fading in music at the beginning of the song?

? I don't understand the question. For me at least, there is no fading at all with my YP-55v and I wouldn't know how to turn it on. There is a couple of seconds pause between files though, which bugs me, but no fading. You sure you didn't have some kind of fade set when you ripped the files/any fading effects that were already there on files you downloaded?

No it's not my music. My Yepp is definitely fading in music, but it's only noticeable on songs that start with a bang.

Ah hmm. So you mean, the volume level progressively gets louder as the song goes on? How long does it last? I will check it out when I listen to some things later.

What firmware version do you have?

It's about a 1 to 1.5 second fade-in. I have the original firmware.

Can I ask you to check your software, that you burn with or transfer to the unit..
Those 2 progs can do this also.

I just drag from Windows Explorer.

My answer is you should get the newest firmware version. By the way, what version of firmware does it actually say? My unit originally had v. 2.2002 but most have different ones. So you should get 5.700 and that should solve it.

I should say that mine had 2.500 which is what I felt I downgraded when I downloaded 2.202 from the web, before 5.700 was released. Definately though, you'd want this new version...theres just so many great improvements, changes and new features. Check the User Reviews section on this site for this player, and I have a couple of posts there listing almost all these new things.

Its great...
