It is not YOUR place to try to equalize the average user review rating. Post what YOU think the products deserve.

For example:
http://reviews.designtechnica.com/user_reviews1341.html

While the user thinks the product is good, they give it a 2/10 to offset the other positive review because they thought the iSight was a better product. (We'll ignore the fact that the iSight doesn't formally support any Windows machines, while the Logitech supports both Macs and PC, that the iSight doesn't have the face tracking ability, and it supports only 640x480, which I would think would be bigger deals than image compression since it is a webcam. Just in case it isn't, PC Magazine noted in their iSight review "noticeable compression artifacts ". Oh, and iChat is required, which, if you don't have it already, costs another $30 on top of the $150 the iSight costs, since it isn't on the supported webcam pages for any messengers)

To close... don't be a jag-dork. If you have an opinion on the product, and you either own it, or at least have used it, post what you think of it. Don't pretend your opinion counts more than other readers and give extreme ratings just to influence the average.

Yeah we need to setup a system so that people need to register before posting and/or moderators need to review user reviews before letting them post as well. I know that at Cnet, they review what you post and decide to let it show up on the site or not.

True,
But he has a few good points.
And he is comparing apples and oranges.

I would also like the user reviews in the forums where we could comment on someones review without interferring with the rating.
