I have the Actiontec Media Player. I bought it after buying the Prismiq and hating the interface, as well as having tons of wireless problems.
The Actiontec is nice. It sorts songs by Artist, Album, and Genre, which is an improvement over the Prismiq. I will post some screenshots shortly.
I was having some timeout problems with the webserver (I believe this device uses Tomcat) that were wireless problems. I have since gone to using ethernet directly, and I now have no problems.
For video, the dolby digital has not worked very well when I was playing VOB files. It drops in and out. Actiontec's response to me was that VOB files weren't officially supported, kind of unhelpful to say the least. Xvid file I created played fine, no problems there. I haven't checked DIVX yet.
Some other notes:
- You can add internet radio stations, but it is a bit convoluted (you add them in the favorites on your computer which is then read in on the AMP)
- The component and DVI video outs work fine, pictures look great
- The music player will browse through your picture collection while listening to music
Okay all and all the player is nice, but the software is immature, and the lack of usable VOB support is annoying, since they advertise that you can "play DVDs from your computer to you TV" or something like that. The other downside, is that Actiontech has no real forum for users, nor anyone dedicated to tech support. I have been getting few good answers to my questions (such as when 802.11G will be supported, not important to me anymore, but to some it will be).
