Hey guys.
I've managed to find the 4.0 firmware which didnt have the annoying 'pause' bug during playback.
Those of you who get that bug, try 'upgrading' from 6.6 to this 4.0 firmware. Unfortunatly, it wont fix your track-no's.
Here it is:

Updrade using the normal methods, even if you have 6.6 or higher to fix the annoying pause bug.

Thank you very much. Is it an annoying problem (the sorting) ? What are the consequences ?

THANKX !!!!!!!
Version 4 works so much better ! No pauses now on tracks, and it even allows you to turn off and return to track you last listened to when you switch back on!
EXCELLENT !!!!!

No problem guys - glad I could help in a small way.
Yeah, Philips DESPERATLY need to make DMM 3.0 & 7.0 of the firmware NOW.
I just downgraded to 4.0 myself, and its like having a new MP3 player - totaly different (stable) experience.

Hello,
I just bought a Philips HDD120 3 days ago and i'm wondering if this firmware (4.0) will work with the HDD120 too. It has firmware v6.6 and i'm experiencing the "pause bug" on this unit. It's very annoying coz I was hoping I could play continuous mixes on this thing. TIA!!!

Frankie, the HDD120 is exactly the same unit, but with a bigger hard drive.
Try the 4.0 - you can always re-flash to 6.6 again if it doesnt work. :)

Thanks Obraxis!
I downloaded it and "upgraded" to v4.0. No more "pause" bug but I went back to v6.6 because it froze my hdd120 twice already that I had to reset the unit. Oh well, just have to wait for the next firmware update.

coul anyone upload it again please couse link re dead,..
thanx,..
i have 6,6 but dont see the pouse thingie? so what exactly is the problem??
@dean -- you have very very old firmware, you should update it to 6.6 from official philips site...
@foker -- on almost every 6.6 firmware, every 10-15 minutes the playbacks stops for 3-4 seconds, then resumes, and its sometimes quite iritating. But if you don't have it, considder yourself very lucky! ;)

i once tryed version 4.0, but i didnt get on with it well, and decided to go back to 6.6. the reason being that it kept on crashing, therefor me having to reset, which is more of a pain then a little pause every day or so.

Hi all
I upgraded the firmware on my HDD120 to v 6.6 at the weekend and since then it has been totally different. No pausing at all now. Sounds silly but I think it even sounds better!!
Am now actually very happy with it!

i assume what u mean is that u downgraded from 6.6 to 4.0,
4 has its problems, it is alot more freeze prone, so remeber the hard reset combo when u use 4.0 (Up+VolPlus), i also think 4.0 dosnt save the last song you was on whenever u let it go into stantby mode, if u can live with these problems then 4.0 wouuld be ur best solution to getting rid of the pause bug in 6.6

I found v4 starts up at the last song I was listening too, v6 starts as if from a reset everytime.
v4 has much inproved battery live over v6 too.
these are just my findings.

Im also a bit noob with this and id like to know how to load the Fimware into my hdd100 ? I wanna get rid of this pausing too :S.
Here's a simpler version of upgrading the firmware: just go to the hidden "system" folder on your hdd, copy-paste the new firmware, overrwrite the old, and that's it.
