Really? I heard that it ties the 9800XT in a lot of tests, but beats the 9800XT in others. I hope Nvidia won't charge an arm and a leg for it.
REMEMBER THE LAST SET they sent out.???
They didnt match to well.

The ties that your probably referring to are when games are set to the lowest resolution possible...they ALL performed the same. But like at 1600x12000 32bit color 4xAA and 8AF the 6800 ultra blows away the 9800XT........what are you referring to in your post ECA?
All the scores that were reported were wrong.. Overstated by at least 20%.
Until it hits the market and the consumer tests it I wont believe ANYTHING.
Even the last gen cards had beta drivers, Im upto rev 50.16 from version 12, along with 1 hardware update.

I think he is referring to the 3dMark 2003 tests? thats the only thing I can think of.
Guy,
You dont know the video card tests are 1/2 hoax?
Esp when run from the company?

Ahh but i've been reading indepedent reviews......toms hardware, gamespot, etc..
Pssst!
How can they be independant IF it aint released yet...
I will wait for the consumer reviews.
Its easy to get great speed on a machine with nothing on it, in the background slowing stuff down, games its designed for, and being Paid for good reviews.

Duh....Nvidia did give out the actual cards to these review sites...
So they are running thier own tests, independently from Nvidia...
But ya, consumer testimonials will be nice...
AND,
IMHO, rates higher then 120fps are stupid and ridiculous.
Rather have better processing and more storage for graphics pages.
You cant see much above 60fps, all it is, is faster display of details(that fly that landed on the oponents shoulder).

Ya the human eye can't tell anything 60fps...
But all im saying is that all indications are that this card rocks....I mean 1600x1200 Halo at 70fps is damn good....
ok,
so ya can do 1600x1200, but ya aint got a 24"+ monitor....WHY DO IT.
lets say you got .26 dot pitch= a dot every .26 mm...how many dots ya got??? 100 per inch(1600/100=16 inches of Display)
How much is a 26 DP monitor(a real one), go to NEC and find out.(TO MUCH).
30,720,000 just for a backdrop. Now if it had a 512-1gig ram on it...great. Windows wouldnt have to cache anything. Until someone made Myst super highres.
