i dont know WHAT firmwire i had but all i know is that lots of times when i try play a song it freezes and when playing its likely to have pasues, and when i try skip to next track it will definately freeze,
i found firmwire version4 on this forum i put that on now when i try turn the hdd100 on it freezes and dont get past the philips logo.
is there a way to totally restore the hdd100 to when i 1st got it, i dont mind losing all the data on it, PLZPLZPLZ help, i spent £200 on this and its like a waste right now

HI
Not sure if this will help, but format the drive in the same way you would a floppy disc, then start philips dmm thing, it will tell you that you must update firmware..... download the current one (6.6) i think then install it.

have u tried formatting it before? there are other system files on the hdd100 other then the firmwire, can these be recovered?
ive formatted a 128mb memory mp3 player before, thats now messed ip too, u can put data on it but it cant find the songs to play, so i jus use that as a memory stick now
It depends of what time of format you do to the unit, you needs to make sure that you format it in fat32, then load up the DMM software and install the frimware when prompted. You can use either ver4 that you can fons on this fourm or ver6.6 fromt he philips support site.

Please also upgrade your DMM-HDD100 to Ver.2.0.
You can download at Philips support site.
