Im not a hacker or techie and want to thank you all for your contributions to this thread. I used the tool provided at the isearch web site becouse I cant or am unexpreinced to alter the register.

I deleted all but the first and renamed it to 127.0.0.1. Is that right?

Whats the hosts file really for anyway?

Rename the file completely to something like bak.blah and reboot your system. Windows XP should automatically create a new host file for you (free of spyware) and you should be good to go. If it doesnt work, rename the file back to what it should be and we can try fixing it using anti-spyware software. I am pretty sure the first trick will work though.

In the directory: c:\windows\downloaded program files
I find a file created the same time and date as the isearch toolbar was selfinstalled. its called: {1C78AB3F-A857-482E-80C0-3A1E5238A565}

When I rightclick at it it says that itīs codebase is:

ms-its:mhtml:file://C:\ss.MHT!http://toolbar.isearch.com/install/00010/chm.chm::/files/initial.cab

and when I open next the file depends on the file: toolbar.dll in the windows system folder. But it also says toolbar.dll is damaged.

I cant seem to find any of the 3 files itīs depends on. The names is: toolbar.dll, initial.inf and version.txt
Both the file initial.inf and version.txt has exact the same size: 4,096 byte.

In the file setupapi.log I found a long log with the 3 files when I search for them inside files. And Im not an techie so I cant figure out what it says unfortunatly.
