Problems with Battery!!!!

I have noticed a number of posts concerning short battery life and difficulties in obtaining a new battery (e.g. posts from jaws, rdmarsiii and others).

I have a 180B5 that is a little over a year old. The battery now lasts only 10 minutes. I have the 3 year service plan from Best Buy, but have been trying to get a replacement battery for 6 weeks. First, I was told it was in stock, and then April 30 and now there is no definite timing to fill the backorder. I heve gone through several layers of BB and I'm still getting the runaround.

Since other people have had or are having this problem, what are our alternatives for gettingaa functioning laptop?

I also own a VPR Matrix desktop and I am really angry!

i have the exact issue, i have their 3 year plan as well. my batt charges for about 10-15 minutes. but i've yet to get a new batt replaced. i have a question though, do you need to leave your laptop withthem while they are trying to find a new battery for you? anyways... let us know the exact process. thanks

My dad had to replace his battery, power regulator and one of the fans on his 180b5 and ya they made him leave it over the weekend.

No, I didn't have to leave my laptop. I've just been 6 weeks without my laptop being portable.
