All too often I see people spending thousands on computer equipment and electronics, but when it comes to office furniture, they buy the cheapest furniture. To me the furniture will last way longer that any computer and it effects your physical body as well. Which is more important?

I could post a picture but... Let's just say I've got a mattress on the floor next to a rather small table like thing that holds the computer set up... Works for me plus, when I'm not typing, I get to lay down & surf... Heh, heh...

Ultimately, its the high price of furniture that I think stops most of us. If we have to decide whether to drop a $1000. Will it be for a busload of technical stuff or a suite of really nice furniture. The tech will win every time (unless you're married). Also, average cost of "nice" furniture per piece is $400/$1000 per piece of furniture. I can replace my entire stereo set or TV or main computer (or all three with a bit of judicious time spent on ebay). Its a question of resources. ...

Sounds more like a question of personal value of prefferenses to me!

Not really, Assuming infinite resources: I would get really, really nice furniture. It isn't personal preference. Preference would come into play about what brand/featureset, level of comfort, etc.
