Hey guys, I need some help.

I have a 200A5 with the NVidia GeForce 4 420 32M card. I keep getting a fatal error from a drawing operation performed by my graphics card, their solution is to update my drivers. So, I've tried that, and I"ve also tried the drivers from the VPR site. No dice, I still get the fatal error that causes the system to reboot.

Any speedy recommendations/guidance/help would be gladly appreciated!

The drivers on the VPR site aren't labeled, so it's impossible to know if they are updated versions or the versions that shipped with the computer. If you do a search on this site and the other forum (http://www.infoarena.com/vprmatrix/forum/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=640ff30da67185ca7aef726c826c0bc9), you can find various suggestions for alternate drivers. I use the one from Dell, and it's been working great for quite some time now.

BTW, are you running a specific program when this happens?

Typically no, The program I am currently running does not play a roll. Tends to happen in a sleep/screen saver mode. It's a fatal operation error that it cannot draw or something. I'll check it out.

Thanks for the quick reply and for the info.

Stop screen saver, Stop Power saving, Stop everything, except what you want runn.
These tend to do strange things even on Desktops, all the way back to win95. they want to STOP all access, and run ONLY the screen saver or power saver... DONT.. Just turn them OFF.

Then watch your ram..... IF you top out the HD cache you will crash.
