My hdd120 died the other day. The first problem was that it was not being recignized correctly by a win2000 pc witch was very odd but i thought of it as a prablem with that pc. The pc said it was an unrecignized usb device. Later I found the recordng feature was not working so I rebooted it. It will not turn on. I get absolutely nothing and the usb connection to all computers sees the device as a new unknown device. I was using version 4 of the firmware because the version 6.6 1 second pause on some tracks was bugging me. I just called Philips and my warentee sait I could get a free exchange up to 90 days. However the guy I was talking with said I had to send it in for repair instead because they dont offer replacements for the hdd120. It is being sent in to be repaired.

I thought that I would share my story with people and I am interested to see if aneyone else has had the same or a similar problem?

i had this problem. you can take it back to where you bought it, or get it repaired (as you are).
basicly the operating system has been removed/corrupted.
i took mine back to the shop and gave me a shiney new one.
