Yes!!!!

Philips has released the versión 3.0 of DMM for HDD060 and HDD070, I'm downloading it right now. Hope its evolution from v1.3 to 3.0 worth the download. It weights 51MB!!!

I will post my impressions later, when tested...

Another new download for HDD060 at Philips site is MusicMathJukebox 8.0 (http://www.musicmatch.com/), no idea if it's a modded version to suit HDD060 or the standard version.

WOW!!!

WHAT AN UPGRADE!!!

OK, the DMM v3.0 is far better than v1.3. New interface, new functionalities, smoother,... and supports drag&drop!!!

And the MusicMatch... It lets you rip CDs, encode MP3 or WMA, tag your files, add art to the albums, buy online music... and put the tracks in your HDD!!! It supports fully the HDD!!!!

Let's forget DMM!!!

:cheers :cheers :cheers :cheers :cheers :cheers

Hey!!

Take care with MusicMatch!!! The one that works with HDD is the one downloaded from Philips website, because it's a modded version. Standard one (downloaded for MusicMatch website, or anyother download site) could not work, and there is no pluging available for Philips devices at MusicMatch website.

The Philips version is supposed to work with every Philips device (all HDD serie and eXpanium).

I can say it works pretty well, and has a lot of features, I'm sure I still can find some zillions of new features and functions the next time I use it.

It is pretty funny to see how quickly Philips came out with an updated version of their software after a 3rd party solution was made available that was better than their own. Now I don't know if this is coincidence or not, but I do know that it couldn't have been all that hard for Philips to mod a version of music match software to work with the HDD series, it works with other philips players. This all may be coincidence or maybe not, but it does seem like the people who put all the effort into making a nice 3rd party DMM replacement program really helped get Philips on their horse...

Now they better come out with one that works with the HDD100/120

So I don't know if this is a bit off topic or not but it's some help for those of you who own an HDD100/120, including myself. I'm only 14 but I've been searching for a DMM replcement and no, I did not find one, but I did find a tool that let's you transfer music from your HDD to your PC. That software can be found here (http://dawuss.student.utwente.nl/~public1/). Be aware that you will need .Net Framwork installed on your PC in order for the tool to work. The .Net Framework can be found here (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en). Unfortunately, I can't test it myself since I'm on a dial-up connection and the .Net software is about 23MB in size. Okay, so that's all I have and hopefully we'll soon have a DMM replacement. Anyone that is willing to test the tool, please reply and thanks!

Hello,

humm ... you didn't find any replacement for DMM using HDD100/120.
So please let me know your opinion about a little soft located here : http://solonweb.free.fr :)
(no more than 550 ko to donwload it ;))

I know it is so far from perfection but perhaps could this HDDTool help you to replace DMM for essential needs.

I would be happy to have your comments about this tool and i am ready to improve it.

hybrid rainbow,

Solon is right. Easy copy is not a replacement software for dmm. It does NOT allow music transfer from pc to hdd120....It only allows music transfer from hdd120 to pc.

I went to Solon's site to check out his software and I was going to get it, but I saw all these instructions and was rapidly confused by them. I also understand that you have to clear all music on your HDD before using Solon's software and unfortunately, I only have the music on my HDD and not my computer. Since I have 56k, my friend got me alot of music but was lost when I restored my computer using restore CD's and forgetting to back up my music. I feel so stupid. Anyways, I will download Solon's software and give it a try. :thumb

I used the software and somehoe lost 189 tracks. And then somehow found them and we're added to my HDD but they had weird names on Windows Explorer. I have no idea of what I did. It's too complex for me but I appreciate the help. Back to DMM and hopefully my files will be all right.

Hi,

sorry you find HDDTooltoo complex to use :(

What would you say about "lost tracks" ?

Yes when using HDDTool names of files are modified as you use DMM ;-)

HDDTool is unable to restore original names of files transfered wth DMM and DMM is unable to restore original names of files transfered using HDDTool ...

Caution : HDDTool mus tbe runned only from HDD drive and not on your PC

There was a folder labeled "System" and I thought it was part of the DHAT. I accidently delete it along with my music and now I get a "!" icon when I turn my HDD on. It seems there's no way to fix it but I'm not sure. Does anyone know what I can do?

Hi,

HDD displays '!' because it doesn't find any firmware and database.

To recreate that you can start DMM while your HDD is plugged to PC ; it will detects the problem and rebuild the directories and database
Then you will have to copy a firmware file (philips.mi4) in System directory
The last philips firmware is available at www.philips.com/support

Yes, we all know DMM is terrible. But I have a question. When I upload my music folder on DMM the tracks are not in the correct order. Is this problem caused by DMM or is there something wrong with my music folder?

Hi,

Yes DMM seems to have problems to play tracks in order.

Even if your files are correctly tagged (DMM uses only that and not names of files to sort them), at least WMA tracks numbers aren't recognized (always or sometimes ...).
