hello my wintvpvr250 works only in mono sound can someone help me to get stereo sound please?

I'm also having troubles with the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-250. The instructions say:

> Install the WinTV-PVR-250 board to your PC and connect the TV Cables.

> After booting Windows, install WinTV-PVR Windows device driver from the WinTV-PVR-250 Installation CD-ROM.

> After the Windows driver is installed, install the WinTV applications from the WinTV-PVR-250 Installation CD-ROM.

It's the second step I'm stuck on, which I thought would be the easiest. I've connected the card and cables properly like step one says, then booted up the PC. I'll get the "New Hardware Found..." bubble pop-up (sometimes...) but when I click it nothing happens. So I go into the Control Panel and click "Add New Hardware" and it does find what I'm trying to install, however it has "Error Code 10: This device cannot start" written next to it.

So now I'm stumped. I've followed the trouble shooting Hauppauge gives, but it doesn't help at all. I also tried changing the PCI slot, but to no avail. Any help?

I am very pleased with my WinTV PVR 250. It uses very little resources and the quality with the right codec (MediaPortal Mpeg2Dec) is quite good. I will agree that the software (WinTV2000) that comes with it is very poor and outdated. You'll want to replace that quickly. Snapstream Beyond TV is great.

Nice review. What Conexant chips are used inthe PVR 150 AND 250. I blew up the picture but couldn't read the print on the chip.
