View Full Version : HELP!stop auto complete.Options doesn't work
I can't turn off auto complete. I have absolute shield,MRU blaster, spyblaster, adaware. MS Ez fire wall and anti virus installed. I first went to internet options to shut it off that didn't work. I am not able to even erase previous typed in searches. I am running WIN XP home edition. What can I do to fix this? I have already read your reply to Steve 154. Like I said I can uncheck this setting and hit apply reboot, the box stays unchecked but it acts like it is still checked. I can't get rid of previous searches. So every time I make a new search it is added, what can I do?
sounds like you installed another prog to DO auto install...
Are you running any BARs on IE...Yahoo, google, MSN, AOL...
THEY have to be turned off...
I do have advanced search tool bar on my I.E.6.0 browser and UCMoore. I think I haveUCMoore turned off. I don't know how to turn off Advanced Search Tool Bar without uninstalling it. I do like that program. I shut down the browser and right clicked on I.E. and went to options, advanced, checked and unchecked auto complete. Tried it again, unsuccessful. Rebooted and repeated still no success. If I could even erase the history of typed in searches I might put up with it. I wonder if I could go into the registry and erase typed in history but I don't know where to go. Got any other ideas?
