Dated August 6th, this new version includes the new firmware in two flavours, so the zip file is twice as big as previous releases.
The reason is that the new DMM 3.0 manage the firmwares in a different way ("encrypted", they say), so they provide one firmware for DMM 3.0 users and another one for DMM 1.x users.
There is no changelog available, and there is no "obvious" difference between this release and 3.0. Seems to be just a bugfixing minor update.

Why is philips releasing updates only for the hdd060! :argue
Its really annoying considering the hdd100/120 is the more popular of the two...and the hdd060 has been absolutely destroyed by reviewers (not that that means much)
argh...release dmm 3.0 for the hdd1*0 please!

The reason HDD060 is updated more often is not so hidden: HDD060 is newer, so its firm & soft wares may have bugs, and things to polish.
The firmware for HDD1x0 is v6.6, while the one for HDD060 is v3.1... so HDD1x0 firmware has been updated lots more than HDD060', and sure it needs less updates/bugfixing.
Regarding DMM, AFAIK each player uses an absolute different DMM software, so version number is regardless. But I'm not 100% sure at this point. And the taylor made MusicMatch version you can download from Philips for HDD060, should work with HDD1x0 (just give it a try!) as well as with PSA and eXpanium series.
And talking about reviews... where can I find reviews about HDD060? I have only read the one at tweakers.net... ant it's a possitive one. And my opinion as user, HDD060 fits perfectly my daily needs: 300 MP3 in a 93gr magnesium case with the same size as a credit card and a 10-hours-lasting-LiION-batery :thumb

no, the tweakers.net is not a good review...I talk to the guy who did the review almost every other day and he said he was being pretty generous with the score. IGN also has a review...and a couple others, that i cant remember. Visit the link in my sig, if you want to see more.
Now, Im definately not saying its bad, but im positive that the hdd1*0 is the bigger seller and, trust me, dmm 2.0 is a pos....and I actually have had the least problems of people ive talked to.
