View Full Version : Does your girlfriend ever piss you off?

Or is that a silly question in light of the fact that most of the guys here are probably techno geeks and don't know the definition of the word 'girlfriend'?
Seriously, though, my gf did a bonehead stunt to me last weekend that really got me pissed.
She calls me like an hour before she is ready to go to bed and asks me to bring her something from the store because she is too drunk to drive. No problem, I think (and maybe I'll get lucky when I get there), so this is on a Saturday night and there's traffic and she lives a little ways away, so I buy her what she wants and am like 2 minutes from her house when she calls me and tells me nevermind, she's going to bed now and doesn't need it anymore. So now I'm out the money I spent, my time and my gas and I'm pissed off and have refused to call her or take her calls for like a week now until she figures out that she f'ed up and apologises. Am I right or am I wrong?

Well she was drunk, so she wasn't thinking. I would have driven there anyways though lol. I would tell her why you are pissed and see if she apologizes. If she doesn't then thats a sign of trouble to come anyways! Just my opinion.
1. if ya dont answer the phone she cant apologise.
2. Did you tell her WHY.. IF you didnt she may NOT KNOW.
3. ever get drunk, and NOT remember things??
I ask that my friends be responsible for there condition. I dont care if they drink, drugs, smoke or what... As long as they KNOW, and KNOW that they are impaired. Talking to a tweaker is almost stupid. so I dont.
she didnt drive while drunk, she asked you to come over. You took to long, so she FELL asleep. what would it have taken to waken her, and had fun, AFTER you placed the ice cream in HER frig.

Friggin amateur.
Keep what you bought her, or if it is perishable get the next best thing (little thing of ice cream => big thing of ice cream).
Next time she gets drunk show up with it, WITHOUT her asking.
There, I got you some. Now thank me.
And WE don't know about gfs? hehe...

haha your response rocked. Remember in highschool all the hot looking girls went for the jocks, same with college sometimes. But once you are past the college age, the hot girls wisen up and go after those with the money, style, brains - thats when we make our play.
I haven't met a stylish tech geek that didnt have a hot girl on his shoulder. Its true. :thumb
to bad it wasnt the same in MY time...
Most of those girls got beat on, by there boyfriends.

Morbid sarcasm. It did happen once, but I quit girlfriends until a reasonable age.
REASONABLE???
What...100?

I'm...14.
Having a girlfriend at that age is pretty dumb. You guys must be in your twenties I suppose. That is reasonable. :thumb

Ya, having a girlfriend that young is a waste of time in my opinion haha. I know at that age, I had better things to do. :D

20's...
I REALLY wish.
I was 16 when the FIRST Personal computers came on the open market.
TRS, IBM286, Vic 20, C64, Timex Sinclair,...
Should EVEn go into the Magnavox 1000 game machines, Atari 2600, Neo-Geo....
Or even Mention PONG.

Neuroking,
I can understand if she fell asleep (passed out, more like), but she didn't. She deliberately called me off when I was minutes away and I told her on the phone before I left the house how long it was going to take and she said she'd be waiting for me.
I don't intend to keep her cut off forever, just until she realizes by my lack of communication that she has done something wrong. Maybe when 2-3 weekends have gone by, I'll start answering her calls again. I have some leverage here, because her birthday is coming up, and everyday that I don't talk to her leading up to that day will make her more worried, at least that's the plan. :thumb

Eh, depends. You have essentially just wlked over to the door and left it ajar. The ball is entirely in HER court now, and if she wants to leave it couldn't be easier. ESPECIALLY, and I cannot emphasize it enough, especially if you pass on her birthday. Sure for guys missing a birthday lets us know something's up, but a girl's response will not be concern - it'll be anger and sadness. And there is nothing worse than a girlfriend drinking at her birthday party, when the boy isn't around, and she wants revenge or comfort.
I'm telling ya bro, these are the mind games you're up against. You THINK you have the upper hand, and then the other one comes around and smacks ya square in the face. It's all about communication. You have to let her know it pissed you off, or better yet, that you are really disappointed and concerned (anger? never! sadness? always!) Swear to God, you'll get it back in spades...

hehehehe lots of this is true.... mind games are bad though. I USED to worry about these sorts of things and how to best handle them. Now I can pretty much take or leave a situation fairly easily.

It sounds to me like she was drunk, made a mistake, and you over-reacted. TIP: the easiest way to get her to realize she did something wrong is not to act like a child and not answer your phone, playing games like that; it's to bloody tell her. It sounds to me like yall don't have a good relationship anyway if you're talking about 'leverage' and such, but that's just an observation
I absolutely promise you that you are thinking about this WAY more than she is. She may not even remember.

Yeah, I don't know, maybe. She can be kind of strange sometimes. She probably doesn't remember, as smashed as she seemed to be on the phone. Now that I think about it, pretending to forget her b'day is too over the top. It would hurt her a lot more than I was by what she did. She's just thoughtless a lot of the time, and it feels like I'm :brick and it frustrates me.

If she's done this sort of thing before, maybe she's trying to manipulate you, and in essence trying to take control of the relationship. You need to make it clear that you don't stand for that crap, then everything will be fine.
Head games are NEET to play, as long as BOTH parties KNOW.
If one side dont, then LOTS of problems can occur.
In a game like this, its only for a few days.
The worse you could have done, would be answer the phone and be Curt/short with her. Until she figured out you were pissed, and asked why. End of game.
Head games only work if BOTH know, unless you like Solitare. But then you may end up Playing with yourself(LITTERALY)

He is saying that the other guy should have slept with her and then told her afterwords that the girl's mom is having his kid.
this thread is pretty funny, but some good advice her. always tell them when you are upset. People aren't mind readers, especially if you dont live w/ them. The only way you'll get her to apologize is to tell her what she did and how it effected you. Right now she may not even have a clue your are mad, or know something is wrong but not know why or that she did something.
