Can any one help,
I am trying to burn an ISO file to CD but it is 885MB and there for won't fit onto the CD.
How can I compress and still get the cd to run?
Or can I extract the program from the ISO format on my hard drive?
Any help greatly appreciated.

That has nothing 2 do with it ...
WELL, the file was created from a DVD probably, that was created for a game.
If he has a DVD burner, USE IT.
OR find the PROG that made it in the first place...
Breaking apart a program ISNT the answer... MOST wont Install properly if you do.
ANd an ISO is an exact copy of the drive data. If there was copy protection then THATS there also...Unless you use the SAME prog, if wont get it installed.

Try using Clone CD or Fireburner. You can typically do an overburn using the RAW format. Let us know if that works.

I'm using windows xp.
Yes I have a DVD burner. I've tried burning image to disk (in nero) with a blank dvd, but I get an error message - 'unable to write to this kind of disk'.

Get CD-RWIN....and you should be able to fit like 900MB on a blank CDR.
