Found this at Gizmodo:

"Alcoa has teamed up with Pittsburgh Brewing Company to produce and package Iron City beer in a new aluminum bottle. Their pushing it as "unbreakable," which is certainly true compared to glass, and harping on its ability to keep a beer cooled for up to an hour longer than traditional bottles - all for only about $1 more per case. In addition, the new bottles are resealable, so if you want to enjoy that flat beer in sips throughout the week, now you've got the technology."

I love this idea! Cold beer that last longer.

I'm not much of a drinker but aluminum bottles just doesn't sound right. Can you imagine drinking a nice beer from an opaque aluminum bottle? Just didn't feel "right"

Funny recycle trivia:

90% of the GREEN glass is NEVER picked up to recycle..Even tho most WINE is put into GREEN bottles...They dont want it back.

there is plenty of sand to make glass out of but we are certainly limited in our supply of Aluminum. I doubt that this material would replace what is used by the majority unless everyone was more motivated to recycle the cans.

I think a better idea would be to sell pint glasses made out of aluminum, if you are that serious about beer you don't drink out of the bottle. The glasses at least you can wash and reuse.

If Aluminum is so Scarse, why do we use it in cars and Cans...
Lets go back to TIN and STEEL... ITS SUPPOSED TO BE CHEAPER.
