Whenever i try to sign on to AIM it comes up with an error saying "sign on blocked. Click More Info for details." I click more info and it takes me to AOL and then when i try to sign on there it just says "Goodbye" and sends me bak to the sign on screen. I hav a windows xp and right now im using internet explorer. Before when i tried to sign on to AOL it took me to some info i had to input but then i cancelled out of it and now it just takes me bak to the sign on screen and i cant access that info anymore. That info couldve been the solution to this problem. Can anyone help?

Ummm,
IS AOL your Internet service provider? or are you just using Instant message?

Do you have Zone Alarm running? Your firewall could be preventing this. Also try creating a new AOL account and try logging on, if it works then most likely your old account has been banned.

Our account has been banned but how did it happen? My guess is this. A couple of months ago my bro gave one of his *bad* friends his password to AOL and im sure he did something against the Terms of service. GRRRRR!!

ouch, sorry to hear that. Lessons learned I guess lol.

Try out Trillian, I use that and its a great program, compatible with AOL IM.

Ok lets list the suckiest ISP's in order.

1) AOL
2) SBC / Yahoo DSL
3) Ameritech DSL
4) Earthlink

Get rid of AOL! Your brothers friend did you a favor. Make sure that AOL isn't charging your card anymore and move on to something better. Consider the fact that it is very very hard to cancel your AOL account under normal circumstances. They will do anything short of giving you a BJ to try you to keep you with the company. Its not worth it. Their AOL "browser/application" ( the program you use to connect ) is a P.O.S. method for them to push select content and advertising to its customers.
