Iv been saving for 5 years.
My friends give them to me.
I go in the stores and Steal from there displays.
Not only AOL, but Earthlink and lots of others.
Im saving up, so I can cover the WHOLE side of my house.
Great for sun protection on southside.

Nope got it from some buds at Pimp Rig :)
Its interesting to think...
Advertizing costs so much that the COST must be shifted to the consumer.
In the OLD days Adverts were supposed to PAY for themselves.
Think what it costs to shipout over 100 million CD's a month(thats 1/3 the pop of the US). Even at WHOLESALE prices of 10cents per CHEAP CD, thats ALOT of Money. And then they wish you to pay HOW much for net access??
They have access in the US, and europe, and some other places.. Im not totally sure all the places. WHO wants to pay for there LOST revenue??
There is ONLY one reason I would Use there sevice. If I had kids and didnt know HOW to set child protection up myself.

Another thing to consider is that a lot of companies are allowed to right off alot of the costs considered for advertising. When a company does a contest for example, that can be written off as operating expenses.

All this means is that they can report a lower than normal profit. I am not sure of the rules. We should ask a CPA what how much this affects the taxes of the company.
AOL seems to think that this works. They are the most popular service provider. It is quite possible that one of the reasons that the monthly fee is so much that they have a large advertising budget that needs to be payed for.

I've got 150 useless CDs, ive been collecting them for years, but only 25 of them are AOL cds. I've got every version from 4.0 and up, and i'll be looking for AOL 8.0 displays next time i go to the store =)

I wonder what some other uses of CD's there can be? lol I like the ECA reflective wall or roof, that would piss off a commercial jet liner at the right angle and altitude!

Put a CD in the microwave and turn it on for 15 seconds. The CD will make little spider webs. Its pretty cool.

will it hurt the microwave?
The CD, is a Very light material of metal, incased in Plastic, Poly carbonite.
It could if you did ALOT of them. Its like the Metal filagre, on coffee cups, or fancy plates.

I think they would burn much better over a campfire or a fireplace. I think it would just fizzle and spark in the microwave. You shouldn't burn too many however because plastic releases enviromentially toxic fumes.

I have heard that some people (whom are stupid) have taken up to collecting every different free AOL disc that the company publishes. Check ebay for links. I bet they sell them on there.
