I have a Plextor PX 708UF dvd player/burner.
I have been offered a number of dvd's (originals)from the US region. Will I be able to play them back on my pc, via the Plextor. I am in the UK. I need to know before I take up the offer
Many Thanks

When playing a different region dvd on your system, you have 5 plays before the region is locked. If those 5 plays happen to be a dvd that is not the region you live in, guess what? You only get to play dvd's from that region.

There is software that "unlocks" the region setting though.

Dang is that the SAME with COMPUTER DVD's...Strange..
didnt see the HACK....
I would contact Plextor about region settings, and HOw to reset them.. Just tell them you are a businessman and go country to country, and the option to use Other regions formats would be nice.

That matches what I was told about the 5 choices of regions, I didn't believe it but didn't want to end up with no dvd player. .
Where can I get the software to counter this restriction? A check on Google is bewildering.

I cant find a hack for it...
Can I suggest that you buy a HACKABLE/region free CHEAP DVD to play DVDs.. And use the plextor only for copying.

Also noted that NERO has a CSS section to NOT WRITE the region code...
