ATI Sapphire Radeon 9600 256MB, ATI Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 128MB, Geforce FX5700LE 256MB or Geforce 5700 128MB

All are in the same price range and I'm wondering which is "better"

I'm building from sctrach and seeing what parts i'll need to modify. I haven't chosen a mobo yet, but whichever i do chose ot'to be compatible with the vid card.

no, i despise waiting. >.<

woo. money spending. actually, i'm trying to save up. notice i haven't selected a Radeon 9800 or FX5950 for that matter.

1. how much to spend.
2. what you looking for?
3. how much you willing to spand on BETTER?

Forget everything tell us WHAT the base unit is, the Mobo and CPU...
A GREAT video card wont do you ANY good with a CRAP mobo...
you can loose 10-40% just from the mobo.
And if you are going to deal with hyperthreading, WAIT...New cards are already coming out.

Mobo: Asus P4R800-VM
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.2E Ghz Prescott 1M L2 Cache 800FSB

I'm also considering to change to a MSI 865IPE NEO2-PFS or ABIT IS7 -V- i865PL.

I'm looking to spend about 180 CDN give or take.

Then go with the 256meg cards...
I suggest the older one as the drivers are PROVEN, and dont need to many updates..

Neat. Now down to the age ol' question of Radeon vs Geforce
Probubly stick with the Radeon, due to better reviews and slighty better memory bandwidth and fill rate. i think.

ALL, current hardware is BETAWARE, its NOT final versions. Anything less then 1 year old has new drivers every month, and NO promise that they WORK.
