how to get directory service (411) for free via sms

Hi guys,

I came across this site that offers free 411 service through text messaging. They said they don't charge a fee and anyone with a SMS phone can use it. Has anyone else tried their service yet and know if its any good?

Haven't tried it myself...seems like it would be good for those with a lot or unlimited txt messages on their plan. I wonder though if they will eventually charge for the service...free seems like it would be hard to maintain especially if it gets popular.

NOT if you input your info, and they use it to SPAM you with adverts...
THEn they can make LOTS of money and you gave them your info for FREE.

And they say they DONT spam, but can they sell to 1 person, that DOES??

they wish to gather this info, and wiat WITH ALL this info to be purchased. And MAKE LOTS of money..

Another thought, is that the INFO is there, what holds me back from Finding EVERYONE, and doing my OWN spam.

Im leary of sharing info...ANY info...

Anyway, I used their service and so far no spam. I guess my opinion is now biased. But, at least cingular is not getting anymore of my $1.25.

but if you READ it, it says that ONLY companies that SIGN with them can send OFFERS.. If they agree.
So, eventually they will.

I agree with you all. But it seems now that they've updated their 411 service with driving directions. Its still free and no one else has offered it. Wouldn't that mean that the service is being worked on?

But soon, alot of persons will have it, and ALOT of comapnies WANT that info.
they WANt to know where you are going, whats your name address, and how much you MAKE, spend, and how many children you have,...Everything about you.

Average amount theyPAY for this info, ranges from $1-5, depending on the amount of info. And if they can keep track of you as you pass a ICE cream parlor, and RING your phone at that moment and give you an ADVERT....You just might stop and have one.

they are already looking at a system that WOULd IDentify you when you come into a mall, and send adverts to you AS you walk thru the mall.
