Did you ever try and repeat one of ECA's posts out loud to yourself? Adding in small shouts EVERY time a WORD like this happens for ALMOST no apparent reason. heheh

If you want to know its a trick.
It makes things STICK in ppls minds. Its easyier to POINT to certain sections and phrases.... Better then highlighting.

BUT it appears to ALTER the grammatical structure OF the SENTENCE for SOME reason.

ECA you are supposed to bold the text you want to highlight not write in caps. IF you write in caps its like you are raising the decibil level of your voice not adding emphasis to the word as you would in normal conversation. For instance how you would translate the following situation to text would be.

<setting>
You are walking in the park you see someone up ahead who is looking through their wallet. They are walking in the same direction as you. You see somethign drop from their wallet. Continuing on at the same lesiurely pace you walk until you get to the spot where the item dropped. At this time the person is quite a ways away from you such that if you talked normally they wouldn't hear you. You see that the item is their ID.

You: " HEY YOU DROPPED YOUR DRIVERS LISCENSE BACKHERE !"

or

You: " HEY YOU DROPPED SOMETHING !"

or

You: " HEY IS THIS YOURS ?"


That is the proper way to translate a shout in real life to text. The proper way to translate emphasis on a word is to bold it.

And Doesnt BOLD H expand in ALL direction insted of just ONE seem to be more like yelling... And finding the controlls for it, and using it would be harder, so LESS yelling...

No you stubborn bastard I'm telling you that the proper way to indicate emphasis on a particular word is not by capitalizing everything but to use bold where needed.

I don't care how you do it but new people to the site that havne't read 4 thousand of your posts don't know what you intent to do when you capaitalize things because you are going against the given standard for composing written documents.

Wouldnt it be NICe to make it EASY to change it? so that Capitals was emphasis, and BOLd was yelling, make it HARDER to YELL that way...

and I think the convention to use UPPERCASE to yell, was only because MOST sites didnt have or USE BOLD text anyway...
