Hi, i'm new.

Ok, i just got back home with a shiney new spliter for my coaxle cable.
This is so i can watch TV on my computer monitor without having to unplug my internet connection.

As soon as i open up the tuner software, everything looks ok. It's showing the video, and playing the sound.
The problem happens when i try to change the channel. The TV tuner program closes out on me, but the sound keeps playing.

I'm on a computer i built myself, so i shouldn't be surprised. It's my first.
It's an Athalon 1800, Windows XP service pack 2 machine with 1 gig of ram.
Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

Hi Daniel,

Did you try downloading the latest drivers from ATI's website? My first thought is that its an incompatibility with SP2 and the video card. Try using the latest drivers and let me know if that helps.

Thanks for the quick reply.

EDIT: Well, as a confirmation, i unstalled SP2, uninstalled all ATI software and reinstalled everything off the original CD, along with the Media center update.
It works fine now.

I wonder if anyone else is having this problem with SP2....

what updates should i get off ATI for the AIW 9800 pro? Is the Catalyst necessary? Or do i just need to get ver. 9.2 panel? Right now, i'm having problems getting win 9.0 endcoder downloaded.
