View Full Version : DVD Creation
Who here has created DVD's from divx files?
What applications did you use.
Anyone know if Ulead's DVD authoring tools will convert divx files on the fly to mpg2 to burn onto dvd's?
Creating DVD from Divx is easy if you have the right tools.
My method:
Convert Divx to DVD-compliant MPEG2 format using Canopus Procoder. Alternatively, use Tsunami MPEG (TMPEG) to convert it if Procoder is not available.
Use Ulead MovieFactory to burn a DVD with simple menuing.
You can also use Ulead VideoStudio 6. The program will import Divx files in the timeline. When it's time to make DVDs, it will render the video to an MPEG2 DVD format. Unfortunately, VS6 is painfully slow and not as high quality as a dedicated program like Procoder/TMPEG.
If you want fancy intro screens and special effects menuing, you will need to use Sonic ReelDVD. I'm still trying to learn that thing. Powerful as hell, but also not easy to master (yet!).
Finally, Ulead DVD workshop (as far as I can tell), is a slightly less capable version of VideoStudio 6. Given the choice, get VideoStudio 6 instead of DVD workshop. Just my 2 pennies.
awesome.. just what I needed to know.
Wasn't sure if going the tmpeg was the best route. I have used it before, just takes forever to convert stuff.

Knowing how expensive these are and how hard (impossible) they are to
get on the P2P sites. If anyone is intested in the best for a heck of
a lot less email me at creedrocks@comcast.net This is your
opportunity to try them out before shelling out hundreds and hundreds
of dollars! Yes, they work perfectly! I since have purchased the full
retail versions out of respect for the software companies. However I
would not have shelled out the $1,800.00 total for the two had I not
been given the chance to try out the full versions for less than
$100.00.
cool. didn't know about those apps. did a quick search on my fav p2p and found some results, so must not be that hard to find. Right now I'll be trying some cheaper solutions though.

Don't trust a first time poster. He is still breaking the law and you could be punished if found guilty in a court of law.
Although it is an awfully nice gesture :)
