I have a Sony Z1VA laptop, and for most everything it's the perfect fit for me. Yet since I've arrived at college, I've discovered the joy that is gaming.
I know that my computer came with an ATI Mobility Radeon 16mb video card... is it possible to upgrade it to a better card, such as the ATI Mobility 9600 w/ 128 mb?
I feel as if the video card is where my laptop comes up short, at least partially, so if I could upgrade it, that'd be awesome. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Also, is this a do-it-yourself job? By the way, the game that most interests me is Unreal Tournament 2004- it can run the game, but graphics have to be turned way down.

I believe all laptops have their graphics chip as part of the motherboard, so that would be a no in most cases. I'm not sure what the likes of Alienware and Voodoo PC do though. Typically the only things you can upgrade on a laptop are:
1) the memory
2) the hard drive
3) adding anything that fits into the pcmcia slot(s) (network adapter, etc)
4) adding a new type of cd-rom in the drive bay. (or a second battery)

You are most likely out of luck.
