PLEASE HELP! Audiovox CMD8900 question

I have had this phone for about a month. Verizon has it set so that the external display toggles between the time and "Verizon Wireless" automatically. This drives me nuts waiting the 6 second interval until it changes again so I know what time it is especailly in meetings when it looks like I am staring at the floor or worse. Does anyone know hot to change that? I cannot find anything on it in the manual and go figure the verizon folks at my store are not helping.

Hey phlegm welcome to DT :)

I hope you like the CDM-8900, its a pretty decent phone overall.

Unfortunately, all of the 8900's suffer from the same lil Verizon Wireless logo on the front. It's pretty darn annoying esp. if you want to see the time but you can't cause their logo gets in the way :P

Anyways, the only way I've known you were able to take off that logo on the front LCD is by purchasing a data cable and modifying a few of the files.

There is a sub forum for Verizon wireless and this topic has been discussed numerous times. I meant to try it out myself when I had an 8900 but I never got around to it lol. Its definitely possible, So good luck :D

No problem. When I was doing my research on the topic, I heard that you could get the data cable from Radioshack for about $10-20 and then the software was downloadable on the web.
