“It is obvious to me now that the KT400 chipset has an issue that affects only certain gaming situations. The common ground that I am seeing here is a Radeon 9700 Pro video card using 8x AGP and on OpenGL graphics programs. Why it’s only this particular API is beyond my current testing. I am currently inquiring to all companies involved (ATI, VIA, NVIDIA) about what is the cause behind the problem and how and when it will be fixed, if ever.”
I think they have just answered my question. I have an Abit AT7 Max2 with an 8X AGP slot and I am running a Radeon 9700PRO video card. I noticed immediate choppiness in both Tactical Ops and UT2003 with this motherboard/video card combination, but was unsure as to what was causing this. Do you think this applies to all 8X APG cards? Will it apply to Nvidia’s new 8X AGP Geforce 4 card do you think? To me this is a major let down…
