Hello everyone!

I really hope there's someone reading this who can help me out;

yesterday I recieved this little YP-55H mp3-player as a xmas gift from my father. This is the first mp3-player I've ever held in my hands and I was eager to install it and make use of it.

I've now been through almost every possability since last night to make it work, but nothing happens.
I've installed the drivers (again and again and again) from both the install-CD as well as the drivers found at samsung.com. I've tried to reinstall SP4 some five times or so by now and also upgraded my USB-ports with several different drivers.

None of these actions made me make use of this little rascal Mp3-player :(

I'm now pondering either to send it back to my father and tell him I can't use it, or re-install my whole computer (again, just did it eralier this autumn), none wich I really don't wanna do if there's no need...

So, If there's anyone out here with any suggestions of what to do, I'm happy for any help!
I run win2000 server, SP4 on a celeron 1700 mhz processor. Have both USB2.0 and normal USb as far as I can tell.

Also, I've called the tech support earlier today and they should 'look into it' but still hasn't heard from them (I told them it was pretty urgent due to guarantees from the tailor and so forth) and now I'm pretty fed up.. ;)

Thanx in advance

What do you mean nothing happens? You attach it to the USB port and the player's screen remains blank and the computer doesn't recognize that there is anything new attached? Does the player work as is? ie. Can you listen to radio and the default songs? Did you get this thing used or is it straight out of the original box?

The Player is only USB 1.1 so having 2.0 ports or not will not affect it.

I'd say you might want to try installing the YP-55 7.3 firmware upgrade + software on your computer, and it may help it detect it. I've heard of ppl having issues with Linux, but Win2000 seemed to work OK with it. XP definately does with no work at all.

Ummm,
I have seen afew computer mobo's that had something special about them.
1. BOTH USB, 1.1 and 2.0..try different ports.
2. A bios setting??

Have you used other USB devices? USB 1 or 2?? I would unplug THEM first, Hate usb Keyboard if its USB 1..
