This has nothing to do with the actual game itself, but it's 12:42am here and i'm studying so I'm totally out of it, but as I read the subject line of your post "Moo3....is Out.", I just started moo'ing for some reason.

I was like, "Moo...Mooo....Moooooo"

Is it in stores already ?? I might go and drool. I'm not sure if I can afford ANOTHER game right now. WC3 is keeping me rather busy.

MOO3 looked really cool when it was being made.

It's really awesome !!! Prolly my most favorite game series of all !

ok who didnt play the origional? i was hooked, none of the other spoofs even come close...

this new one is supposed to be much easier, i hated having to build all those damn building for every planet you started, that gold old, but all the screenshots of moo3 makes it look very technical. I hope it doesnt make it boring

I played the first one, it was really fun. The cool thing about it that they changed with MOO2 is that you could build LOTS of ships. Made the strategy kinda different cause you could have a ton of medium ships overwhelm much larger ships in smaller groups.

I like what CFW did by introducing different wormholes / maps. This kinda of thing is more geared towards the RTS space strat, not classical turn based like this series.

I know that the game designers did their homework from what I remember reading about the "making of ". So I think you can be assured that playability is going to be very good. Maybe they will make it two games so that it can be online also. I know there are alot of cool things that Sid Meir is doing with his Civ expansion pack.

Hopefully, the game will be throughly tested prior to release.

MOO2 tend to crash until V1.31 release.

Also, hope the game is well balanced.

In the original MOO2, you could rule the universe by turn 60-80 if you play a Unitol with +2 production bonus. Very deadly combo.

Anyway, guess I'll be hitting the stores this weekend.

And I hope they make Master of Magic 2...

Ya MOO2 was most excellent. I don't remember that race you are talking about, maybe a spelling error.

Unitol = Unification + Tolerant. Basically, 50% bonus to production without pollution penalty. A Rich world will give each worker +2, combined with Unitol means that at the beginning of the game, you could build a colony ship in about 9 turns.

By the time other races colonize its third world, you would already have colonized about 5. And by the time other races colonize its 4th world, you should be doing about 8.

By turn 45-50, you could build a missile boat (battlepod destroyer + 3x2 MIRV nukes) in three turns. A wolf-pack of these, combined with outpost (take about 2 turns to build) means you could lay waste to other players colonies. With most races, you would be hard-press to build such a ship in under 10 turns at this early stage of the game.

For negative picks, repulsive is a good one and negative on spy cause a unification race already has bonuses to spying so they canceled each other out (kinda like a freebie).

And this race doesn't rely on the 'creative' crutch that allows you to research all the techs in the tech-tree.

It sounds like the Sakraaa's would be the best race to play with that strategy. You would certainly outbuild everyone in the early game, but if you dragged out your plans of conquest than you might get behind on teching.

I'm not sure why you would send a colony ship along with your troops. Explain that one to me.

I liked playing the Psilons the most ! Kill everyone late in the game with super technology.

I am glad to inform u that master of orion 2 is still played online via kali server 246. Here u can find help web sites which will guide u how to configure moo2 on kali.

We usually play orion2.exe (dos game) which is abit specific : users with windows 2000 cannot play it via kali. Others users might play. Sometimes orion95 (windows version) can be used. Its laggy but it works on all operating systems.
Defeault server for chat is kali no 246 ( chat servers -> game servers -> 246 ).

Best time to find opponent to play is european evening or weekends.
IF u dont have moo2 u can download FREE full version which works with time limit ( ask me on priv here / kali for more detailts )
