It has recently come to my attention that Monster Cable Inc. has been involved in a very questionable business practice. Monster Cable Inc. has been threatening lawsuits toward any and all other businesses that dare to use the word "Monster" for it's business no matter how small or unrelated in product to Monster Cable Inc.This strong-arm tactic cannot be allowed to continue unanswered.

Therefore I'm asking all that read this post to join me and others in the boycott of Monster Cable Inc. I'm including in this thread a few websites related to the despicable actions that this company has taken.

8) http://ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/v?qt=adv&qs=monster%20cable%20products&page=1 shows the pending lawsuits with more on the way.

If the actions of this company pisses you off as much as it does me then please voice your outrage to:http://www.monstercable.com/company_info/contact.asp

Protecting ones trademark is one thing ,but threatening companies to submit to their demands by way of lawsuits, can only be seen as the actions of an a$$hole.

Oh god. Another RAMBUS/SCO/???

You got my support. If anyone needs cables, I'll post links to non-monster ones that are great quality. I just don't feel like digging out the links right now :)

Glad to have you guy's on board! This company will stoop so low that they actually went after Hannah Barberra for naming one of their cartoons "Scooby Doo and the Monster of Mexico". I mean c'mon...what possible trademark infringement could this cartoon possess? Was Scooby Doo selling A/V Cables in that episode?

"In 1999, Monster Cable sued the company it has been most mistaken for, Monster.com., the Maynard, Mass., online job-hunting site. The companies settled in February 2000, but agreed to keep the terms confidential.

However, trademark law attorney Anthony Malutta, who once defended a client in a case filed by Monster Cable, noted that Monster.com's site has a link to Monster Cable, not the other way around. "
