At first I could not connect to the internet so I went to Run/msconfig/startup and found 2 startup items without any names and unchecked them. When I restarted my computer Norton detected the virus again and the 2 items where their and checked again. I tried the internet again without any luck and went back and unchecked the items this time without restarting and then was able to go on the internet. The startup items are shown as follows in the picture attachment.
Please Help!!!
first suggestion...
restart computer, and TAP f8 during startup..
Goto SAFE MODE...
It stops about 90% of everything from loading...
RERUN AV.
Should be able to kill it.
WHILE there, Run spybot, updated..
Adaware if ya got it.
Make sure to OPEN IE and DUMP ALL COOKIES, and the temp internet files, then dump your TRASH.
Once done, repost the new Hijack log

Ok I tried it and it didn't find anything. So I deleted the shredder program and tried microsoft's new antispyware program which found and deleted several including mediaticket, etc.
But still no luck with this virus. So I am ready to proceed to the next level.
Here is my new Hijack log:

Also I have learned if you go to Start/run/msconfig/startup and tell it to disable all that it doesn't allow it to run. But as soon as you put a check next to anything it allows it to start up. Hope this helps.

I need to do more research on this. Maybe someone has come up with something.
Here is the article on this file.
IETLBASS.DLL
Variant 39: CWS.Realyellowpage - Inducing homocidal tendencies
Approx date first sighted: March 16, 2004
Log reference: (not visible in HijackThis log)
Symptoms: IE pages changed to real-yellow-page.com, drxcount.biz,
list2004.com or linklist.cc, hijack inexplicably returning on reboot
with no file seemingly responsible
Cleverness: Where's my infinity character button?
Manual removal difficulty: Battle axe or chainsaw recommended
Identifying lines in HijackThis log:
(not visible in HijackThis)
This variant is a nightmare. If you come across an infected machine
that
keeps changing back to the aforementioned sites over and over again for
no visible reason, you've probably seen this one. It's like whoever is
reponsible for this hired some blackhat coder and told him to make the
most complex, invisible and devious hijacker he could think of. And he
did.
The file is randomly named, and normally hooks into the IE process,
loading itself as a module into it. And then it hides the host process
from the process list. Yes, you read that right, the process hosting
the
dll disappears from the task list and most process viewers/managers we
tried.
At first it was only visible with FAR Explorer, later we found PrcView
also shows it, and has some nice command-line options which makes for
nice scripting to aid in manual removal. For Windows 95/98/ME, booting
the system into Safe Mode will prevent the file from loading, allowing
for even easier manual removal:

Your right this is an extremely difficult and nasty virus.
I do believe that I got it narrowed down. Please take a look at the attached picture. I believe it is hidden in one or more of the items underlined in red. Because when they are checked and I restart my computer the 2 items in with the blue boxes and no names duplicate themselves and then I get the virus warning with Norton upon startup.
The one item with the purple box I have no idea what is, it just appeared today.
Also thanks for all of your help and if you get any more ideas, please let me know. Thanks again.

Here is a copy of what prcview shows on my computer at this time. It may show more if I were to allow the other items in the message above to start up. What do you think?

On Prcview Did you type in 2
MANUAL REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS *
* Download PrcView here:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/pv.zip, unzip it to the
desktop.
* Be sure to have at least 1 Internet Explorer window open,
then double click on the runme.bat.
* Select option '2' from the menu.(type 2)
* Notepad will open with a log in it. Look for a line with
this
file, size and beginning to it.
* The filename will always be different:
winajbm.dll 61c00000 61440 c:\windows\system32\winajbm.dll
This part indicates the bad file:
61c00000 61440
It will always start with that header.
* Write down the filename behind it.
* Now download KillBox:
http://download.broadbandmedic.com/VbStuff/KillBox.zip
* Unzip and run it.
* Don't click any of the buttons though, instead please click
on the Action menu and choose "Delete on Reboot".
* On the next screen, click on the File menu and choose "Add
File". The file you copied earlier should now show up in the window. If
that's successful, choose the Action menu and select "Process and
Reboot". You'll be prompted to reboot, do so.
* After rebooting, make sure the file is gone.
Tech info: Win9x/ME: Known to use the HKLM RunServicesOnce key to load,
which is deleted by Windows after loading the file and recreated by the
dll when Windows shuts down. Visible in Safe Mode, dll file is not
loaded then and can be deleted.
WinNT/2000/XP: Known to use the HKLM AppInit_DLLs value to load,
possibly more Registry keys. The 'delete file on reboot' function can
be
used (KillBox does this), provided the filename is known.
File is heavily encrypted using an unknown packer, has a modified PE
header and crashes most (if not all) memory dumpers when attempted to
dump the file from memory. Hides the dll as well as the host process
(IEXPLORE.EXE, RUNDLL32.EXE, CONTROL.EXE, REGSVR32.EXE, whichever one
is
used) by an unknown method.
Right now [17/04/04], CWShredder does not remove this variant. As soon
as I figure out how to do it, I will update CWShredder for it.

Do you have Adaware SE
http://forums.designtechnica.com/showthread.php?t=5583
Make sure you have the latest definitions. Then reboot to safe mode, and Do a Full System scan, delete what it finds, Empty trash bin. Reboot and see if the problem is still there. It worked on a different log, maybe it will work on yours..........Jim

Hi NightOwl, Yes I tried all of that previously but I found where it was running from. It was masking itself as realaudio.exe in start/documents&settings/my computer/c/windows/all users/start menu/programs/start up/realaudio.exe.
I first unistalled real player but this start up item kept showing up and so I unchecked it in my startup configurations and restarted my computer and wow!! Bam!! no virus detected. So I then rechecked it and restarted my computer and ahhhhhh!! there it was. I then unchecked it and applied it without starting my computer and did a search for realaudio.exe and it showed nothing.
So I rechecked it and applied it without starting my computer and did another search and it showed up twice. So I deleted both files and unchecked the 2 items in my start menu without names as shown in the attached photo with the red underlines, and restarted my computer and the virus did not show its ugly face. Even though those two Items still appear there.
Anyway here is my most recent hijack this log, please let me know what you think.

I had this nasty little virus and with your help managed to delete it. I did find some additional information though. Inside the Windows folder was a folder called pss. Inside that folder there were several files: boot.ini and other startup files. There was also a realaudio.ini file. When I opened it and looked carefully I found references to Domp. I removed the folder then cleaned my machine in safe mode and everything seems to be peachy now.
Just thought I would add that bit of information, thought it might be helpful.
