This worked for me so you can try it.

First of all go to control panel and bring up add and remove programs. Then remove the real player completely from your system.

After doing this run a search on your system for the file named realaudio.exe and delete all files that the search finds.

Then go to start--run. You then should get a box with nothing in it. Type in the word msconfig and click on ok.

Now in the box that appears click on the word startup at the top right of the box.

Now look for a box checked name realaudio.exe and click on the check to remove it.

Then look for 2 files that have no names beside them as shown in the attached photo and remove the checks by them.

Now click on apply and then ok.

When prompted restart your computer.

If after restarting your computer you get no virus warning then it has been disabled.

You may get a window telling you about changing your sytem configuration settings. If you get this just click ok and when the system configuration box appears just click on the x in the top right corner to close it.

If everything here works for you, you can then reload the real player at this link:

http://service.real.com/realplayer/downloads/

Good luck I hope this works for you too.

Congratulations. I also managed to get rid of it. Don't fully understand how though. I uninstalled realplayer and winmx, ran a norton scan, put IETLBASS.DLL in quarantine and sent it to Norton (since deleting it doesn't work). I guess sending the file could have taken it away from my computer. Here is their reply for info. Nothing very specific.

Developer notes:
C:\WINDOWS\ietlbass.dll is non-repairable threat. Please delete this file and replace it if necessary. Please follow the instruction at the end of this email message to install the latest rapidrelease definitions.

Thanks Steve, I'm giving it a try. I'm trying it on 3-4 logs. I did notice that all the logs have this

O4 - Global Startup: RealAudio.exe

I found another board thats deleting it also. Maybe thats the problem, so we will wait and see on the results.........Jim :vivi

I do too. I know you've been working extremely hard on this thing by just reading the other post. I'm surprised the big antivirus company hasn't picked up on this thing yet. It seem's like it starting to be a major problem. Steve

Its all over the place, The search engines will pick up on it sooner or later.

But whats the next virus?
But as soon as we find the answer for one, Something new will appear and we have to do it all over again.......Jim
