Hm, why don't you read the article?

It'allows to add remote control capability to a PC. Take any remote, this adapter, and you can control your applications, just like TV or VCR.

Just wanted to know if some one tried it.

Here I listed all the programs that they used. It would be fun hack to try out. I don't know how useful it would be tho. I normally use my computer on a desk. It sems like you would have to have a pretty big monitor to be able to see what is going on. Like they said tho it would be good for integrating an extra PC into your home theatre system.

You would also need one of the recievers that they did a review on.
