Day 3 was an interesting day. We had a great meeting with Philips today. Before that meeting, we went back to Comdex to grab some more pics and look for some more cool products.

I noticed in another thread how some were talking about car stereo mp3 players, here is a nice one. (http://www.designtechnica.com/images/comdex/day3/002.jpg) Dont have much information at the moment. We'll give more on our wrap up.
CaseArts.com (www.casearts.com) does some pretty cool paint jobs on cases, keyboards, etc. (http://www.designtechnica.com/images/comdex/day3/011.jpg) They have been working with ChiefTec cases. Look to buy from them.
Here is another pic of a different paint job. (http://www.designtechnica.com/images/comdex/day3/012.jpg)
Now, one of the coolest things we saw so far is from Personal Computing Environments (http://www.mypce.com). The best I can explain is that its a really nice chair, on an what appeared to be an aluminum tube frame, where you can have multiple monitors supsended in front of you. Here's a pic of the dual monitor one. (http://www.designtechnica.com/images/comdex/day3/016.jpg)
And finally, we met with Philips yesterday for a private demonstration of their products. They are announcing a 4x DVD+R drive, which is great. However, I like this portable DVD/MP3 player. (http://www.designtechnica.com/images/comdex/day3/017.jpg) It has SVideo and Composite outputs. With the optional battery pack, you can get 4 hours of viewing pleasure. I think its a pretty great idea. They also mentioned that they plan on putting a DVD+RW drive in it in the near future.

So that's it for things that stood out from yesterdays activities. I'll post more tomorrow.

As far as the car stereo mp3 player...dont' know much info about the one displayed, but it could be one of those hard drive based players, and maybe that rectangular pack in the back is it?
The one that I have just plays cd's and mp3 cd's

Yes, its a hard drive based one. Its not meant to be a replacement for your car stereo but an add on.

They did have a prototype of one that is integrated into the stereo (behind the faceplate) which looked to use a laptop HD instead of a normal one.
