recording on a mp3 HD player

Can anyone suggest the "best" HD mp3 player with a possibility for an external mic? It seems that the Iriver H140 has the best recording possibilities but that thing is so g*ddamm ugly ;).

I thought maybe about purcasing the MPIO HD300, but can anyone tell me in what formats it can record? (The manual only mention mp3, but it can playback wav and ogg, so maybe it also can record in that formats?) And has it a adustable record volume?

It only records in mp3. If you are intending to use it for (close up) personal memos that its fine, but if you want to use it for anything else (ex lectures) it has a hard time picking up voices across the room

i thought the hd300 had a line in feature since it has a "line" folder. no?
