Another deal from Best Buy:P
This time it's the Visioneer One Touch USB Scanner (Model #5800 USB). It's listed for $49.99, and it has TWO $35 MIR's. And once again, you can still get free shipping on it.

Here's the link :D

I got one sitting on my desk right now. I bought it back when it was 19.99 after MIR. No problems so far. I haven't tried scanning negatives on it yet. It had everything I was looking for in a scanner. I don't have a USB 2.0 or Firewire card in my mahince yet.

Good to hear! You're the first one that I know that has one of these. No negative points that you can think of?

None for a everyday scanner it works great ! I like alot so far !

I haven't tested the color quality yet, but I don't have all the equipment. I can't find my color chart and I would need some different software to create the gamut.

I was thinking of picking up another one. But I already have one (like 3 yrs old) and I don't even use it. It's not even hooked up. Although my sisters have asked me to scan some stuff before...so maybe I should consider a new one...I dunno... :P

Ya for a little piece of plastic they sure are expensive eh? Like $30 !!

Oh something should be mentioned ,is that this scanner doesnt' have the greatest resolution, only 600 x 1200.

I remember that one year when Elmo was the hot item and you couldn't find one of those dolls for the life of you. I don't think Ebay was around at that point, but if it was I bet they would have priced them similar to what the Zip Zaps are selling now for. I work at KB Toys and I will see if I can find some for you when I work this weekend.

The resolution is great for everyday use. If you are looking to archive images at close to a Gig per image than this would not be ideal.
