Greetings,

Every time I run Ad-Aware SE Personal Build 1.05, my McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 7.0 detects the ipreg32.dll. McAfee reports that it deleted the trojan, but when I run ad aware again, it detects it again.

I have SpyBot, Ad Aware, and the McAfee Virus detection software. This software and their definitions are all up to date.

Searching for ipreg32.dll with Windows Explorer does not return any results.

How do I get rid of this thing? Thanks.

Log looks pretty good, could be a hidden file you are looking for.

Place a check next to this and click Fix Checked.

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565} - (no file)

Make sure when you search for a file to check the 3 items listed below.

Start/Search/All Files and Folders/scroll down click More Advanced Options.

Scroll down and make sure these 3 options are checked.

1. Search System Folders
2. Search Hidden Files and Folders
3. Search Subfolders

Hi NightOwl,

I followed your instructions and my problem appears to be fixed. I even rebooted and the problem did not resurface. So that's good.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I was not searching for hidden files. I assumed that Windows Explorer would find them since I did have Explorer set up to *display* hidden files.

Thank you!

Glad I was able to help. Download SpywareBlaster for prevention Here is the link.

http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Yea you need to check those boxes so it will locate the hidden files. If its not checked It can drive you crazy. If you ask me that function should be automatically set. But since its not we get people in here all the time trying to find something. You are definately not the first.........Jim :vivi
