Is it possible to use my Sony Digicam 8 as a Web cam? If so, do I still need to use tape in the record mode? Would fire wire work?
ya, ya and ya...
Just check, 1 THING first...
Plug it into the TV, and turn it on to see if it shows a LIVE preview ON the TV, WITH OUT pressing record... If it does that you have NO problems..shouldnt anyway..
then you can use the USB to Video adaptor..(SLOW)
If you have TV input on your comp, you can go straight to THAT also.(BETTER)
Now if you can find the FW driver for input, and the device WILL preview to the FW channel, that even BETTER..
1 thing...This is all better, ONLY IF, you arent trying to send a video accross a DIALUP internet...

That is not something that is available to all models however.
