Laptop Slow down after Windows SP2 Upgrade

I recently upgraded my IBM laptop with Windows SP2 upgrade. Since the upgrade the PC has slowed to a crawl.
I cleaned up all the Spy programs using Adaware, reran my Virus software several times, Avast!. Reset my firewall settings, ZoneAlarm Pro. Yet my Laptop still runs like a crack head with leg irons, sliding on maple syrup. Has anyone had a similiar problem????

1. Is this an UPDATE, or full install?
If UPDATE, what was other OS version.. And which version sp2. personal, pro,???
are you 56k modem, or highspeed?

UPDATES SUCK, BAD.

At this time, Adaware is only catching, IMHO about 90%, and its one of the BEST..
There is stuff out there that would curdle your brain, and I rank up with VIRUS..

Anymore info, i would suggest, sending us a HIJACKTHIS, log.

Dosnt SP2 take up MORE System Resources? I bought a Laptop off of DELL w/ WinXP SP2 Pro (didnt know it had SP2, I hate it.) Cause my other laptop got screwed up. Long Story short, I called DELL saying my laptop is lagging and everytime and I reinstalled WinXP SP2 Pro and I was running 60programs at once...WOW! So, I reformatted my Comp w/ WinXP SP1 Pro and now, I run at 40programs at once. Still lags alittle (Stupid Intel Centrino Processor). I highly Recommend you UNINSTALL SP2!!!

Need a tuneup program, one to turn certain parts of windows, you dont want, OFF..
Also migh look into a few bot programs..I aint found an instillation of windows withOUT any bots...they come off the disk..
