saving speakers

I was wondering if it hurt your speakers to leave them on for periods of time without use. These are just basic computer speakers, and i was wondering how much power they would draw being on, but not in use. Thanks

It doesn't hurt the speakers any if you leaved them on for an extended period of time, assuming of course that a power-spike doesn't come through... After all, speakers tend to last several decades.

Now as for the electronics, solid-state devices are highly reliable, even if left powered-on. As for the power draw, I would say around 10-20 mW if left idle.

I leave my Altecs on for extended periods without detrimental effect. YMMV.
