I am currently at my cousins house and I am probably the most knowledgable in the family. He didn't seem to mention to me the problem until I noticed it on his machine. He uses Mozilla Firefox to run away from the problem. And I happened to click on internet explorer and I realized this website shows up.

"res://C:\WINDOWS\System32\shdoclc.dll/navcancl.htm"

I have come to realize on my research on this problem. And I tried to read other peoples 'HiJackThis' logs and tried to fix the problem from other peoples posts and I went through the directions and did with what I can find and remove. I have some of the same files and yes I did remove them, but the problem still persists and I seem like I have to bother you guys with the same problem. I wish I didn't want to involve you by posting and just by reading other people's posts but I can't seem to fix it. Hopefully I can get a reply tonight while I am here.

I already updated Spywareblaster and Lavasoft Adaware and removed as much as I can, with no problems, but obviously but the problem is still here. So here is my Updated log from "HiJackThis" and see what you can come up with to see if we can fix this problem.

Reboot To Safe Mode (tap F8 on Startup)

Delete this file and folder

Still In Safe Mode Delete all Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, Run AdAware and Spybot,delete what they find , Empty recycle bin.

Hello there!
My PC is a lot slower, and past couple days, when I wanted to email someone by clicking on the email address on any website, suddenly 50-60 pages open. I saw the word "navcancl" @ the bottom of one of them. I have been reading the other posts. I scanned th pc with Microsoft Antispyware, did a trendmicro online virus check, nothing found.

Your copy of HijackThis needs to be in a folder of it's own. When HJT fixes anything, it makes backups of the original files in the folder it is in. For this reason it cannot be run from a Zip file or from Temporary folders because the backups will be deleted. Having the backups could be VITAL to restoring your system if something went wrong in the FIX process!


1. Please go to you're 'My Documents' folder, right-click and select 'New > Folder' then name the folder 'HJT'.

2. Copy and paste HijackThis.exe to the new folder.

Looking at your log it looks ok, That doesnt mean its clean.

Download and Run Ewido Security suite

http://download.ewido.net/ewido-setup.exe


Run Ewido:
Click on scanner
Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.
You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen.
Save the report to your desktop
Close Ewido

Post a new HijackThis log along with the Ewido log you saved.........Jim

I took care of the HJT problem, i experienced the same problem again. Here it is in details: When I read an article online, there is the writer's email address. Before the problem i usually click the email address, and my outlook express screen comes up for me to type and send the message. BUT, now, when i click the address, computer freezez up for about 5-10 seconds and about 62-64 blank IE pages shows up... Extremely annoying!

Looks like Ewido picked up quite a bit. Does the problem still persist?

If so Download The Stand Alone Version of CW Shredder,Spybot, AdAware, (Links at the bottom of my message) If you have them allready make sure they are up to date.

Also run your AVG AntiVirus program. Make sure its up to date.

Like I mentioned before, When I click on someone's e-mail address on any website, about 60-65 pages open in few seconds. They all say "page not found". BUT! I saw a message "not default mail program" or something like that.....

I will make sure that Outlook Express is default this time.

It looks like I pinpointed the problem. I am using Microsoft Access 97 to work on our Home Health Care business. In order to install it, I had to install the whole Microsoft Office 97. I already have a XP office in my pc too. So, anytime I try to email someone by using their address posted online, 64 windows open. I believe his 2 programs conflict. I tried to uninstall the old outlook or outlook express, it won't work. Totally uninstalling the Access 97 or Office 97 is out of question. I cannot do it, because of very hard Home Health Care program configuration.

So, finally; I have to keep Access 97, and my Office XP. I did that before in same PC. Can you please help?

(oh I forgot; I made Outlook Express default mail client time and time again, problem still persists)


Looks like Ewido picked up quite a bit. Does the problem still persist?

If so Download The Stand Alone Version of CW Shredder,Spybot, AdAware, (Links at the bottom of my message) If you have them allready make sure they are up to date.

Also run your AVG AntiVirus program. Make sure its up to date.

After doing that post a new log. Let me know how its running........Jim
