I'm going to buy a Sony Vaio laptop.
There's 2 I'm interested in but I'm not sure which I should choose, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
They both have similar specs:
15.4" X-Black widescreen
512Meg Memory
60gig Hard Drive
Dual Layer DVDRW
Wireless LAN
Radeon 9200 Graphics
But one has a Pentium 4 running at 3.06GHz
the other has a Pentium Centrino 735 running at 1.76GHz
The Centrino one is £100 more than the pentium 4.
Is it better to have a slower running Centrino in a Laptop than a Pentium 4? Due to battery usage, or something?

Check the battery like. Most likely the Centrino will give you around 6 hours, and the Pentium 4 around 2.5 hours. If you need it to be a powerhouse, and will be by an outlet most of thtime, go P4, but it you don't want to worry about finding an outlet, and you're not doing video editing or gaming, go Centrino.
Hope that helps!

Before purchasing, just try doing a search on sony vaio computers and you will find they come with a myriad of problems. Mine won't start up at times, has a faulty battery, and a power problem. Since sony integrated everything on the motherboard, and since they charge $250 to look at the laptop (under warranty or not) it can easily cost up to $950 to fix a power problem. Please don't make the mistake I made. If you bought it, return it NOW, before trouble, before the return policy expires. Read the fine text, it doesn't have the standard sony contract, it expires in 30 days.

Now I know that's not true. After I gave my VAIO to my sister, she had problems with the HDD, and had to send it in for repairs. She didn't even have to pay for shipping. Maybe you're not dealing with Sony USA?

I saw that you posted Sony hate messages like 5 times on this forum. I am thinking you work for a competitor. And if you don't, still stop with the spamming. You are aloud to hate Sony, but we only need to be told once, not 5 times.
Thanks
